Michelle Obama: “I still have a little bit of the impostor syndrome, it never goes away.” “It doesn’t go away, that feeling that you shouldn’t take me that seriously. What do I know?”
The Impostor Syndrome is the feeling that you are about to be exposed as a fraud because you think you are not as smart, talented, or skilled as everyone thinks you are.
Sound familiar? Find out how to overcome it in John Graden’s, The Impostor Syndrome. Only available on this site.
Note from John Graden
I was interviewed for this story by the BBC. One question was, “John, are you surprised that Michele Obama has the impostor syndrome?”
I answered, “No. Not at all. She had no major accomplishments other than marrying a guy who ended up the president. It would be natural for anyone to feel they may be in over their head in that situation.”
As a side note, Michelle handled her first lady duties with grace.
